End User Licence Agreement
What you may do with Synaps8 and the IDSLEY texture packs.
1. Who this agreement is with
The software and asset packs described on this website are licensed by Fundacja Rozwoju Przedsiębiorczości „Twój StartUp”, ul. Żurawia 6/12 lok. 766, 00-503 Warsaw, Poland (KRS 0000442857, NIP 5213641211), through its organized part of the enterprise operating as IDSLEY (“we”, “us”).
By installing, activating or using a product, you accept this agreement. It sits alongside the Terms and Conditions, which govern the purchase itself.
2. What you are buying
You are buying a licence to use the product, not the product itself. We keep ownership of the software, its source code, the presets and the asset files. Nothing in this agreement transfers copyright to you.
3. Trial mode
Synaps8 runs without a licence key. In that state every feature works and there is no time limit, but rendered output carries a repeating SYNAPS8 TRIAL watermark. Activating a licence key removes the watermark. Use the trial for as long as you need to decide whether the plugin fits your workflow.
4. What the licence allows
- Use in unlimited commercial and client projects. No royalties, no per-render fees, no reporting.
- Render and deliver finished work to clients, broadcasters or platforms without further permission from us.
- Install on up to 5 machines that you own or control — for example a workstation, a laptop and render machines.
- Use in any supported host application: After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro.
- Keep using the version you bought for as long as you like. A licence does not expire.
5. Activation and machine seats
A licence key is personal to the buyer. Activation contacts our licence server, which records a hardware identifier for each machine and enforces the 5-machine limit.
- Reinstalling your operating system on the same machine does not consume an extra seat.
- You can deactivate a machine from inside the plugin, which removes the key from that computer.
- If you replace hardware and run out of seats, write to idsley@gmail.com — we reset seats on request, free of charge.
6. Internet connection and licence checks
We think you should know exactly what the plugin does on the network, so:
- Activation requires an internet connection, once per machine.
- After that the plugin stores a signed token and works offline for 30 days at a time.
- Roughly every 14 days it quietly re-checks the licence in the background. This never blocks rendering, and a failed connection is treated as “still licensed”.
- The plugin only ever talks to our own licence server. It sends the licence key and a hashed machine identifier — no personal data, no project contents, no footage, no usage tracking.
If our licence server were ever discontinued, we will release a build that does not require activation, so your installation keeps working.
7. What the licence does not allow
- Sharing, publishing, reselling, renting, sub-licensing or giving away your licence key.
- Redistributing the plugin binaries or the asset files, whether on their own or inside another product, template or asset pack offered to third parties.
- Installing on machines you do not own or control, or on a shared render farm operated by someone else, unless we agree in writing.
- Removing, disabling or circumventing the trial watermark or the licensing mechanism, or attempting to derive the source code, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it and cannot be waived by contract.
- Using the product to build a directly competing plugin.
8. Texture and overlay packs
The asset packs — Film Frames & Grain and any similar collection — are licensed on the same commercial terms: use the files in unlimited personal and commercial projects, including paid client work, with no royalties and no credit required.
You may edit, recolour, retime and composite the files into your own work. You may not redistribute or resell the files as files, whether unchanged or lightly modified, and you may not include them in a stock library, template or asset pack of your own.
9. Free Film Mattes
The free pack carries the same terms: free for personal and commercial projects, no redistribution or resale of the files themselves. A credit is never required, but always welcome — we like seeing what people make with them.
10. Updates
Updates within a major version are included with your licence. A future major version may be a separate purchase; if it is, we will say so before you buy.
Note that projects created in Synaps8 1.2 or later do not open in versions earlier than 1.2.
11. When the licence ends
This licence ends if you breach it in a way you do not correct, or if the purchase is refunded or reversed through a chargeback. When it ends you must stop using the product and remove it from your machines. Work you have already rendered and delivered under a valid licence stays yours to use.
12. Warranty
Needs legal review. Drafting note: EU and Polish consumer law gives buyers statutory rights over digital content that cannot be excluded by an “as is” clause, so this section must be written to sit alongside Regulamin §7 and §8 rather than override them. What can honestly be said: the product is supplied as described on its product page; we do not promise it is fit for every conceivable workflow; the free trial exists so you can verify it works in yours before paying.
13. Liability
Needs legal review. Drafting note: blanket exclusions of liability are unenforceable against consumers in the EU, and cannot exclude liability for death, personal injury, gross negligence or intent. The Foundation should supply wording consistent with Polish law and with the Terms.
14. Governing law and contact
To confirm with the Foundation: governing law and jurisdiction clause, which must match the Terms and Conditions.
